Review: Phoenix Unbound

Phoenix Unbound Phoenix Unbound by Grace Draven
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Straight of the bat, I am going to be honest. I didn't love this one and I didn't hate it either, it is legit some where in the between.

This story called Phoenix Unbound by Grace Draven was a highly anticipated release for me, as always the world building was amazing, and yes ill be reading them all. I adore the cover, man do I ever!

Azarian and Gilene didn't capture my love as Brishen and Ildiko, it almost felt as if it was Silhara and Martise but smooched together. If you were hoping to go in this with anticipation of a start to finish action and romance you wont be finding that here. I found this story to be very slow, possibly to slow. The story its self has been told before, but I found with myself I couldn't DNF it because I was already invested to see what happened all the way to the end.

My favourite parts were when they ended back where Azarian was born, watching them fall in love and how Gilene finally stood up for herself believed in what was really happening. I hated her family, I felt they were so selfish. I am really looking forward to the next one, I think it will be fantastic, especially how this one ended.

I loved the Az, so much more then Gil, but then I loved the magic and what she could do. I thought wow, Grace can really create such an amazing and interesting worlds where you want to know more about, and the how's and whys!

I think Grace had won my over with Radiance, so coming into this one I had very, very high expectations.

This was a real enemies to lovers story, I think that what I didn't love as much as I was as I was hoping. But you guys I have to say it again and again, the world creating was so damn good. Phoenix Unbound is defiantly one to check out, the author has done a lot of work and research into this one, you can tell buy the way she writes about certain things. It is beautifully written and as I have said I would read more, and let everyone know to check it out, with a small warning that it is very slow moving.

Review: Cross Breed

Cross Breed Cross Breed by Lora Leigh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Yes, the wait is over my friends. Over the decade we have been all patiently waiting for this story, and it is so darn good you guys!
Breeds series, is one of my all time favourite series, it has had some ups and downs over the years but it is safe to say this was all round 5 stars, Cassie is everything and more. She is all grown up and she is mated, to her mate! Thank you Lora, thank you for providing us with this kick ass story. The main couple is perfect. I'm not going to tell you who the main guy is, I wasn't spoiled and I wont do that here. Reading this book just confirmed again why Lora is a queen in this genre, she is just that good. You will be shook, you will be flicking them pages quickly to see what happens next, and among other things too lol don't be a prude, you know what I mean! I am all about this smutty goodness right here, and with the overall arc continuing, the plot thickens.

Bring it on!

I cant wait to see what happens in the next one, because HOLY SHIT I did not realize who and who are mates and that person is taking the serum to stop the heat coming on, I am shook! It is going to be so hot though, and to see what happens with the plot.

I cant wait for everyone to read this book!

an arc was given to me for an honest review.

Review: Hidden

Hidden Hidden by Rebecca Zanetti
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A new series by Rebecca Zanetti, and its started with a bang!

I enjoyed this book, with its quirky characters and very suspenseful plot.
I was pretty hesitant going into this one, but I was pleasantly surprised. Pippa is a shut in, who is on the run from her crazy cult leader, and Malcolm is this sexy ex cop who moves into next door but is forced into going under cover again.

The relationship works for me, the suspense did too.

I'm looking forward for the next one.

short and sweet review, I'm not going to spoil anything for everyone, go grab yourself a copy. You wont regret it!

Review: Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas

Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas by Katie Ruggle
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Such a cute Christmas story, a romance about a hermit and a firefighter. Including kids.
I have to admit, though I like reading my Christmas novels around the actual time of the year, I couldn't help my self with this one. A Xmas story with a little suspense. Rocky mountain seems like a lovely place, both characters are interesting and I was invested to see how it played out. The only meh thing is that it was told in 3rd person POV. for me that is annoying but for some you may love that.

Review: Touch the Sky

Touch the Sky Touch the Sky by Kari Cole
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This was so bad, I didn't like it at all. I honestly thought I would have enjoyed it, but I didn't. I read the first couple chapters like hmm okay... but then after that It was just getting worse for me, I couldn't get into the character Hannah. The writing wasn't bad, it was good. but I think it took WAY too long for it to be finished. This is part of a series, I wasn't too confused, but it is what it is. Wasn't for me!

Review: Healer's Need

Healer's Need Healer's Need by Rhenna Morgan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Okay, WOW! I was hesitant to start this one, only because I accidently seen a few reviews say that they didn't enjoy this much, probably because they hadn't read the first one or maybe they have. I dunno I am not one for spoilers, UNLESS I am looking for them!
I kind of don't like when you hear about a book you are going to read get talked about. BUT I am happy to say I really, like really enjoyed this story.

I really enjoyed this book a lot, I am super happy it picks up right from the first one too, I really like this authors new paranormal world.

Tate and Elise, damn! what a smoking hot couple. They were seriously a delight to watch, grow and fall in love. I felt there attraction was real, I loved how Tate was with her, especially because she is a virgin in all aspects, but when she got her feet under her she gave it right back to him.

Great characters from the previous book, and the over all story arc rolling into this one, I want to talk about the ending but I cant because of spoilers, but do we think that this is the end?

What I really loved is that in paranormal romance you don't see this kind of of twist in shifter, clans with mates and magic and everything that this author gives us. I love that this is so unique and she writes strong women, and characters they you are invested in. does not hurt that her alpha mean are crazy in love with there mates when they find them!

I really hoping that we get a few more stories in this world, with Jade and Alek finding there mates too!

Review: Tossed Into Love

Tossed Into Love Tossed Into Love by Aurora Rose Reynolds
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Tossed Into Love,

What a small kind of tiny little let down this was. I will admit I love my romance, I am a romance junkie but this in the beginning was not what I was expecting, I really loved the previous two books in the series, and this one didn't meet that standard.

Libby Reed and Antonio Moretti is what this one is all about. Libby has had the biggest crush on Ant, and Ant has been the biggest douche towards her. He is legit the most arrogant jerk I have read about in a wee whiles. He is a firefighter and his parents own a pizza shop, that he hates. With his dad suffering from a heart attack and his Mum beside him along the way to becoming better, the pizza shop is left to him to take care of, and that's where Libby come into it more, she loves his family and is wanting to help by volunteering her time to help out where she can. Overall you watch them fall in love, it is really sweet, even though I don't think Ant was the nicest person.

I read it in one sitting, it is short. I think this authors work has in the passed been so much better, her Until series is still to this day one of my favs. I found this story to be a time filler. I would have loved it to be a little more longer, and with them together together longer, then what we got.

I think her fans will most likely enjoy it, but as a fan of hers I was disappointed. All the stories in this series are cute, and very no to low angst., fluffy romances which is a nice change from high fantasy novels that I tend to read a lot off.

This one is Enemies to lovers, miscommunications and misjudgements, a lot of push and pull banter. I missed the other sisters in this one, the way the three of them were always there for each other, that bond was missing. Libby was keeping to herself I understand that, but I don't know, these are my thoughts after just finishing reading it. Make a cuppa, settle in with some choc and be ready to read a short little tale, about Libby and Antonio about them getting tossed into love.

I do have to shout out, that I really loved the ending, the epilogue. I really enjoyed the future parts. I'm not sure if the series has ended, I kind of hope it is.

Review: Magic Triumphs

Magic Triumphs Magic Triumphs by Ilona Andrews
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy smokes, what a epic ride! I don't even know what to say. This book was everything, but that ending... it didn't feel like closure, it felt like there could be more. maybe not with Kate and Curran but maybe with all the others. What has annoyed me is that I want to know what will happen to Julie and Derrek! I'm just speechless, I really liked everything in this conclusion to the overall story.

Review: Twilight Desires

Twilight Desires Twilight Desires by Amanda Ashley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is about a romance about a vampire Ethan who has to come to terms that he is in fact a vampire now, with out the consent and a human women Sofia.

The plot was slow, the characters were likable and the sex faded to black, and the some action sprinkled on top.

I am read Amanda Ashley over the time, and have come to like her writing it for me is either hit or miss, but this time it was in between. this is a book in a series, I would be interested to see what the first 2 are all about.

Cowboy, Cross My Heart Cowboy, Cross My Heart by Donna Grant

Yes, Please Cowboys!

This author is still new to me, I enjoyed the story and at times though I wasn't connecting with the characters and I found myself distracted and putting the book down, more often then I would have liked.

Review: Don't Look Back

Don't Look Back Don't Look Back by Dawn Ryder
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Don't Look Back By Dawn Ryder is the 6th book in this Unbroken Heroes series.
I received a early copy to review, apparently you can read this as a standalone, but no. NO you can not! I tried and I thought what on earth is happening here, I didn't know the characters and the over all story arc was confusing for me to follow. I feel like to get a better idea of the story you should probably start with book 1 with this series, just like any other series.

Review: Dagger's Edge

Dagger's Edge Dagger's Edge by Lora Leigh
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I was so excited to have been given the opportunity to read the second book in the series, but I'm sad to say that I didn't enjoy it as I was hoping too. It didn't even feel like a Lora Leigh book, it felt as some one else wrote this story and she just stamped her name on it. Over the many years I have been reading, I have read a lot of this authors work, and this just was not up to par.

The plot to this one was just off, I like the idea but it didn't do anything to make it stand out. The love story its self was okay, I found myself skimming at times.

Overall, I know Lora Leigh can do better then this, maybe its just me but I have to be in the minority here and just at nope not for me, and hope that with her New Breed book due to come out this year that it will be 50% better then this one!

2.5-3 stars.

Review: Maybe for You

Maybe for You Maybe for You by Nicole McLaughlin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Maybe for you by Nicole McLaughlin, is the 3rd Whiskey and Weddings novel.

Alexis, parents died when she was fairly young and was raised by her brother Dean and his wife, but then they split and then also Partner was killed only weeks before they were to wed. After his death she spends her final 12 months of her military career in Italy.

This book is a friendship. to lovers, with her brothers best friend. Second chance romance, heartbreak, and moving on.

I was gifted an e arc copy to review this for an honest review.

Overall It was an ok read, it was a little too long and Liked where I thought this was leading but in the end there were a couple things that annoyed me.

Review: The Forest Queen

The Forest Queen The Forest Queen by Betsy Cornwell
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

To me this plot sounded super promising. I love Robin Hood, and the idea of a retelling with switched gender roles is just incredibly fantastic. The story itself was fun to read, but I dunno I just couldn't love it. I do love the cover, super pretty! I am interested to see what other people think of this book. I haven't check any review yet, but I am wonder if people had the same annoyances that I did.

There are so many characters, but none of them are fully developed. There are four main characters, they are Silvie, Bird, Little Jane, and John but with neither of them, I feel that I really got to know the character. And I love Character driven stories...

It isn't a fairly long book either, you can read it within a day.
