Wicked (A Wicked Trilogy #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Wicked
by
Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

Review

Jennifer L Armentrout, has created a paranormal romance series about Fae. These Fae are bad, and in Wicked we go on this adventure with Ivy Morgan, she is our narrative. She is sassy and as kicking, she is apart of a secret society who are the Order, who hunt and kill the fae. Ivy has a fun-loving Brownie for a roommate, Tink!

This was deviously hot, it is new adult, the characters are in their early twenties. I did like the story and the romance. Ren Owens is so interesting; he is our love interest. I wanted to know more about him, I loved him so much. He is so swoon worthy!

Wicked, is sexy, fun and an exciting action romance, set in New Orleans, this is a new to me trilogy that I am looking forward to finishing.

I found that the author did a good job of balancing the action and the romance, I only hope that this perfect balance stays throughout the series. They had some very, lovely sexy times and I was here for it all.

I look forward to reading more about, fae, brownies, and other, other world creatures. Overall, I give it a 4/5 stars. The ending felt a little rushed, I loved the murder mystery aspect too and the ending is left on a small cliff hanger and book two Torn is available everywhere now to read. I found that the whole trilogy is on audible escape plan.

Review: War of Hearts

War of Hearts War of Hearts by S. Young
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blurb;
A standalone adult paranormal romance from New York Times Bestselling author Samantha Young writing as S. Young.

Review:
6 amazing stars to this phenomenal story, this was such an exciting fantasy novel. It was such an aweosme romantic adventure. I loved everything about this story, the characters were everything. The word the author created was so captivating.

Thea who is running for her life, and is a paranormal of somthing but she dose not no what she is. only one person who does. She is a strong kick ass female alpha, and i have a lady crush on her.

Them be stil my heart Conell and alpha wolf shifter is hired to captured her to save his siser, but is this really the case? War of heart was so good, this story is under the titles of enemies to lovers, but honesly i did not see it like that at all.

I cried at a certain part, i sighed alot of the times more honeslty all the time i lved loved loved the audiobook, the lady her narreates it was AMAZING.

again, this review isnt doing this book any justice, but please belive me it was really good. perfect even. This is the reaon why i read shifter nvels, why they are my fav.

Review: Come Sundown

Come Sundown Come Sundown by Nora Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Absolutely fantastic. This story from start to finish was perfect. The story was so captivating you wanted, needed to know what was going to happen next. I loved the Montana setting, I am a massive fan of western romances and this was written wonderfully. I cried, I sighed, I was definitely 100 percent creeped out. You would think twice getting into any strangers car. Highly recommend.

In 1991 Alice Bodine, aged 21 was hitch hicking her way home to Montana, this was most likly the worst idea ever. In the present day No body talks about what happened to Alice Bodine, becasue they dont even no. In this time line we had Bodine Longbow who is Alice's neece. I can not even with my thoughts on this outstanding book, everytime i sit down to write this i get sweept up in my emotions from rembering ehat has happned. This book will make you cry.

Alice is found, in her time that she was held captive, she was repeatedly rapped, and beaten had birthed 7 babies and i was literaly a mess reading about what happened to this strong lady.

Bodine, and Cullen there romance was everything that we needed while reading this story. Its a beautiful family saga story, set in Montana on a ranch that is now a resort too.

My thoughts are all over the place, all i can say is that this is one of my new favs by Nora Roberts.

Review: Lake Silence

Lake Silence Lake Silence by Anne Bishop
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Anne Bishop's writing is wonderful. This is book 6 in the Others series but can be read as a standalone. But in doing so would help you get a better idea at the world she has created. This book is so creepy it scared me so much, don't read this at night! This was a murder mystery tale, you see more and hear of the elders. The is NO romance in this novel, which was not annoying suprising enough. I liked that i enjoyed the story its self, the murer mystery. I loved the supernatural stuff and the characters. I look forward to reading the next one.

Review: The Queens of Innis Lear

The Queens of Innis Lear The Queens of Innis Lear by Tessa Gratton
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book was long and sometimes it was boring, though it was still interesting. I don’t even know where to begin, I hated the oldest sister she was crazy and the middle sister was annoying and I ended up hating her. I liked the younger sister though she got on my nerves, I did like the Ban dude, and also the King that helps her, though that ending was confusing as fuck, please if you have read this book tell me was it fox !? I do think it was way to long, I would maybe consider reading another of the authors books in the future. The audio was pretty good too.

Review: Twilight

Twilight Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"About three things I was absolutely positive.

First, Edward was a vampire.

Second, there was a part of him—and I didn't know how dominant that part might be—that thirsted for my blood.

And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him."

I originaly read this book over ten years ago, and only recenly I decided to re read it again with a big group of instagrammers and it was everything, this book touhced me in so many ways. I was once again so involved with everything that was happening. I couldnt belive at how over the years I had forgotten do much, it is because in the last ten years I have watched the movie more times then read the book now, so the movie imprinted on me, if that makes sense. But now after re reading I fell inlove with the characters and the worls all over again. Its simply beautiful, and sweet. Honestly I am not even sure why I love it so much, but i do. Its just addictive and i was here for it all.

Review: Cross Her Heart

Cross Her Heart Cross Her Heart by Melinda Leigh
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Review: I love it when a favourite author creates a new series in an already established world. If you have read Melinda’s other series called the Morgan Dane series you will like this just as much, for me I liked it but I was not wowed by it. I wanted more romance more then what we were given, this is categorized as romantic suspense there was NO romance like in at all. I know from previous books that there will be some slow burn romance eventually, but at least gives us a bit more then what we got. OK so now that my only complain is out of the way, lets talk about this new series.

Bree Targert is an exciting new character to read about she is a homicide detective living in Philadelphia, until she gets a phone call from her sister Erin who leaves her a message saying that she is in trouble. But by the time she gets to her hometown Grey’s Hallow, Which I think is in the town Scarlet Falls as we already know from the Morgan Dane series the sheriff is an acting deputy sheriff. Anyway, she gets there to late as Erin has been shot and killed, discovered by her (Erin) husbands Justin’s, best friend Matt who is an ex K-9 investigator. Bree and her siblings come from an awful situation, where their Father killed their Mum. So, when she gets a call from her sister, she immediately thinks the husband did it, and brings her past into the mix.

As this is the first book in the series, sometimes things are written way for you to either love it or hate it , I guess like for example in this book we are really focused on the murder, missing person investigation and then the romance between Bree and Matt is on the back burner you know it’s there and going to happen but it never does.

In saying that I didn’t hate this book, I really did enjoy the story and how it was written, the way Melinda writes is fantastic. She has a formula that I personally really enjoy, a strong kick ass heroine, a great mystery that makes you think everyone is the killer, a supporting cast that consists of a close knit family and in this story we have Erin’s children Luke and Kayla. Then Bree’s brother Adam, and Bree’s retired police partner who comes and helps with everything. The murder mystery is neatly done and the reader will be able to follow each step and question the possibility of who done it. I really did enjoy that Bree was able to investigate her sisters murder, I think personally it added a special touch. Overall Cross her Heart is going to be a great new series to read and get excited about. Especially knowing what is to come with Bree and the future, I hope we see some other characters from her other series sprinkled throughout the books to come.

I was/ am so grateful for my arc copy that was generously provided to me by the publishers.

When you do check this novel out, it will be available with kindle unlimited and I highly recommend that subscription, as you can get to read it for free but what I love most is that with all her titles on KU you can read and listen for free. Defiantly check that out, I have read most of her work like that. I look forward to the next one, I love that this a new series in a world I love.
