Rack & Ruin (THIRDS Book 3) by Charlie Cochet

Hello,Hello, Hi & Welcome.

Get cosy, Welcome to my little slice of the bookish community.

Rack & Ruin (THIRDS Book 3) by Charlie Cochet
BLURB:
Sequel to Blood & Thunder
THIRDS: Book Three

New York City’s streets are more dangerous than ever with the leaderless Order of Adrasteia and the Ikelos Coalition, a newly emerged Therian group, at war. Innocent civilians are caught in the crossfire and although the THIRDS round up more and more members of the Order in the hopes of keeping the volatile group from reorganizing, the members of the Coalition continue to escape and wreak havoc in the name of vigilante justice.

Worse yet, someone inside the THIRDS has been feeding the Coalition information. It’s up to Destructive Delta to draw out the mole and put an end to the war before anyone else gets hurt. But to get the job done, the team will have to work through the aftereffects of the Therian Youth Center bombing. A skirmish with Coalition members leads Agent Dexter J. Daley to a shocking discovery and suddenly it becomes clear that the random violence isn’t so random. There’s more going on than Dex and Sloane originally believed, and their fiery partnership is put to the test. As the case takes an explosive turn, Dex and Sloane are in danger of losing more than their relationship.

My Thoughts.
Rack & Ruin is another great book in the THIRDS series.

OK guys, here is the thing. I rated this 3 stars, but I think after thinking about it some more, I've bumped it up to 4 stars, it was overall keeping my attention and I loved the feelings it put me through, and that is how I rate my books, is the overall feelings I feel. Does hat even make sense?

If you have not read this series, or this book I would LOOK AWAY NOW. Because there will e spoilers, and  have no time to sugar coat things.

Straight up, my poor little heart can not take the stress that the book ended, with Sloane getting blasted. Christ, I am itching to pick up the next one asap. Which I am excited to do so, I reached out the the publishers and they ave granted me access to the next two books in AUDIO.

Right back to my thoughts, I am so glad  did not begin to read this series when it came out because I would be a mess, quite possible the fetal position swearing a storm right about now. I am so happy to see progress with Sloan and Dex who I adore. After reading this book, I feel a lot better understanding why Sloan is a big old scardy cat to commit to Dex any deeper than he already is.Sloan has already known heartache before and this is why he is so damn hesitant.

Dax, is AMAZING he is literally everything. I found him even more lovable, if that can happen. He wears is heart on his sleeve, and he is so all in with Sloan, but he always puts others before him self. He grew even more apart of the team in this instalment.

As for Ash, yikes I really thought he was bad, and batting for the other team. I think he was to mean and douch (e) towards Cael. I was like OK, there is mean but then there is ASS-HOLE and he hurt Cael.

I loved the character development with all the characters,  I look forward to seeing each one fall to there knees for there partner. Adore all the growing relationships happening between all of them, becoming a tighter unit. I especially love where Dex and Sloan left of before the cliffhanger ending.

Rack & Ruin was in my opinion very intense, filled with action, heat and a lot of humour!

Highly recommended that you check out this amazing series, and be sure to check out my other reviews.

Hell & High Water

Hello, Hi & Welcome.

Get cosy, Welcome again to my little slice of the bookish community.

Hell & High Water
BLURB:
When homicide detective Dexter J. Daley’s testimony helps send his partner away for murder, the consequences—and the media frenzy—aren’t far behind. He soon finds himself sans boyfriend, sans friends, and, after an unpleasant encounter in a parking garage after the trial, he’s lucky he doesn’t find himself sans teeth. Dex fears he’ll get transferred from the Human Police Force’s Sixth Precinct, or worse, get dismissed. Instead, his adoptive father—a sergeant at the Therian-Human Intelligence Recon Defense Squadron otherwise known as the THIRDS—pulls a few strings, and Dex gets recruited as a Defense Agent.

Dex is determined to get his life back on track and eager to get started in his new job. But his first meeting with Team Leader Sloane Brodie, who also happens to be his new jaguar Therian partner, turns disastrous. When the team is called to investigate the murders of three HumaniTherian activists, it soon becomes clear to Dex that getting his partner and the rest of the tightknit team to accept him will be a lot harder than catching the killer—and every bit as dangerous.

My Thoughts.

4.75 WOW. what an amazing start to a kick ass new series.

This was such a fantastic start to a new paranormal series, with simple and effective world building. Charlie Cochet has created something new, fresh and I am here for it. This one was very enjoyable, and i was surprisingly delighted at how much I loved everything that was Hell & High Water. The two main characters, Dex and Sloan... YIKES. There chemistry was HOT, very push and pull and it was very well written, I really loved there relationship and I can not wait to see what happens with them in the future. The writing in my opinion was excellent, had a tight flow and I for once never got bored or distracted.

My Top Romance m/m series or Standalone Part 2.

Hello, Hi & Welcome.

Get cosy, Welcome again to my little slice of the bookish community.
-
I wanted to celebrate #pridemonth with a series of my favourite m/m series or standalone's. Because I have read 100's of m/m romance books I thought to release these blog posts over the next few days or more. At this stage I have 5 parts to be released. I really hope you enjoy them, and let me know if you have read any or are planning too in the comments.

-
Today's post will be about some STANDALONE titles. Part 2. I have a big list, so again I will split it up so I do not overwhelm you with the amount of books I highly recommend.

-

In no particular order of like what I love the most. Because lets face it I love a lot.

Ethan, Who Loved Carter by [Loveless, Ryan]
BLURB:

He doesn't anticipate his new neighbor, Ethan Hart, crashing into his solitude and forcing him to get out and live.

From the beginning, Ethan makes his love for Carter clear. But he fears Carter won't see past Ethan's damaged brain, even though it makes Ethan more attuned to his emotions than most people. For Carter, there's a bigger issue: he's been burned by so-called "perfect" matches, and he won't risk his heart again.

One way or another, Ethan's determined to show Carter they belong together. Then Ethan receives tragic news. Suddenly he must turn to Carter for strength and support. Will Carter come through when Ethan needs him most?

Fighter: (A Gay Romance) (The Brick Yard Book 1) by [Lynne, Carol]
BLURB:
FROM INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLING AUTHOR CAROL LYNNE
‘The story is a wonderful love story and a story about the connections we forge in life.’ ~ Gay Book Reviews
‘I loved Brick, and Flint, and Mac, and Jax...I loved how Dray fights for Lucky when he won’t fight for himself...I loved the connection between the two men. I loved the relationship between Brick and Lucky. And Brick and Dray. Everything about it was excellent.’ ~ Love Bytes Reviews
Book one in The Brick Yard series.
For Lucky Gunn, the hardest fight of his life happens outside the cage.
On the South Side of Chicago sits an old gym called The Brick Yard.
Ten years ago, on a bitterly cold day, Lucky Gunn wandered into The Brick Yard dressed in a threadbare jacket, looking for refuge. He hadn't expected the owner, Tony Brick, to welcome him with a job and a place to sleep when Lucky's abusive and drug-addicted mother made it too dangerous to return home.
Dray was a gay man living in a world of straight fighters. When his secret was exposed to the media, he dropped out, giving Lucky a piece of advice-if you want to make it as a MMA fighter, bury the part of yourself that won't be accepted.
Lucky discovered the cage was the perfect place to keep his demons at bay, but when he learns his trainer and mentor, Brick, is suffering from end-stage cancer, he begins to spiral out of control. After eight years, Dray returns to help Lucky and Brick deal with the devastating news.
With Dray so close, Lucky's old desires return, and Dray teaches him more than how to fight. Torn between his career and the passion he feels for Dray, Lucky's past demons resurface in full force, threatening his sanity and his budding relationship with Dray.
Despite leaving the cage years earlier, Dray finds himself in the battle of his life with the only man he's ever loved. Will he stand and fight or walk away like he did years earlier?

My Quick Thoughts.
I read this years ago when Carol was first writing it, when it was called the brick yard!

I can't even explain how truly amazing this story is about Lucky and Dray, Brick and the boys.

So many emotions, it truly is one of Carols best books she has ever written, I loved the new little scenes and the tidy up this book went through.

Caleb is deceptively normal for a guy who hasn't left his apartment in three years, and his friendly, caring personality tugs on heartstrings Logan didn’t know he had. But hitting on his boss’s nephew is asking to be unemployed. Logan has enough problems with booze on every corner and a supervisor trying to jump into his bed. Grey's Awakening by [Dane, Cameron]   Grey's Awakening (Cabin Fever, #2)
BLURB:
This book is related to The Sweetest Tattoo but can be read as a stand alone title.
Greyson Cole needs to get out of Raleigh. Everywhere he turns, he sees people falling in love, getting married and starting families. It’s enough to make a grown man want to rip out his own hair. And for a cynic like Grey, one more employee getting engaged signals the need for a long overdue vacation. Grey owns a cabin in the mountains he has never even used, and he figures that’s just the ticket out of this nightmare of happily paired-up couples.

Grey doesn’t expect to be greeted by a belligerent, half-naked man the minute he opens his cabin door.

Sirus Wilder has known Grey’s twin sister for years, and she has given him permission to stay in the cabin while his residence across the lake is under repair. Sirus has never met Greyson Cole before, but he is thankful when the man lets him share the cabin for a few days. There is plenty enough room for them each to keep to themselves. Sirus has had his heart broken and isn’t interested in a hook-up, let alone something more.

Even so, Grey is, hands-down, one of the sexiest men Sirus has ever seen. Too bad he’s an arrogant ass and his eyes are so damn cold. Every once in a while, though, Sirus thinks he sees a hint of fiery passion in the controlled man sleeping one room away.

For Grey, one look at the roughly handsome Sirus puts Grey’s celibacy pact in serious jeopardy. One problem: Grey doesn’t believe in love, has even less patience for relationships, and he refuses to get mixed up in another messy romantic partnership that can only end badly.

Two weeks. Two hard men. Both running like hell from love.

Look out. Something’s gotta give.

My Quick Thoughts.
loved it, sweet romance = SMUT.
Cameron Dane is a very naughty read ;)
